Founded in 1963, the Art Society of
Bonn, which is located in the reconst-
ructed former flower market, with its in-
dividual and subject related exhibitions,
an “Artothek” (art loan scheme) and
much more, is one of the internationally
most important institutions for the
promotion of contemporary art.

Musikbibliothek
(SchumannHouse –Musical Library)
FREE ADMISSION
The Schumann House dates back to
around 1790. Original letters and docu-
ments of Robert and Clara Schumann.
The Städtische Musikbibliothek (urban
musical library) in the house offers
52,000 sheets of music, books, CDs and
DVDs. There are private house concerts
on a regular basis.
GlasmuseumRheinbach
(Glass Museum Rheinbach)
FREE ADMISSION
In the permanent exhibition the muse-
um, established in 1968, shows various
styles of Bohemian glass production
and refining as well as contemporary
studio glass. Numerous temporary
exhibitions, museum shop with
Rheinbach glass and open museum
workshop with grinding shop, engraving
and glass painting.
