Rhine boat trips
Travel just like the romantics - upstream on the Rhine
The Rhine still casts its spell: The Bonn region is considered the gateway to the Romantic Rhine, but the stretch from here to Bingen features vineyards, fortresses built on cliffs and idyllic towns that have enchanted romantic travellers from time immemorial. Steamers carry tourists upstream and downstream from Easter to the end of October. The scenery can be experienced in a particularly spectacular fashion every year on the first Saturday in May, during Rhine in Flames.

Siebengebirgsmuseum KönigswinterThe Siebengebirgsmuseum in the heart of Königswinter shows the life and history associated with Königswinter and the Siebengebirge. As well as the many exhibits from the first heyday of the Drachenfels and Rhine romanticism, the permanent exhibition also displays interesting items on the use of the countryside and its history. The museum's own bakery in the front courtyard is fired up every two weeks and local master bakers bake bread there, which is then offered for sale. 27/07/2016

Siegtal PurEvery year on the first Sunday in July, it's a car-free day in the Sieg valley. A route of about 120 kilometres is blocked to all traffic in this area. This means a lot of fun for cyclists, skaters but also hikers. Other attractions such as open shops, music and cultural events as well as street festivals provide even more fun and entertainment. There is plenty of food on the menu as well. This ranges from small snacks to culinary specialities – there is something for every taste on car-free days. Anyone who still has some energy left, can celebrate until midnight at the after-bike party together with other Siegtal tourers. |
